After seeing some of the insanely creative costumes that you folks have come up with over the years, I decided to pick the most original to receive the Diamine orange and black ink set.

And so, the ink set goes to...

Withoutink! Congrats!!! Here's the description for his winning entry:
"I was dressed as a UPS driver that was in a wreck. My girlfriend at the time was a box that had been run over. All nice and gorey, we both looked like zombies. I had 'shards of glass' sticking out of my head. She had tire marks and such all over her. We had the clipboard scanner etc =) It was spot on..."

Now THAT is awesome. Zombies and a UPS wreck in one! What I wanna know is, how the heck he even came up with that.

Withoutink, email me your mailing address, and your inks will soon be on their way!

Finally, here are some of my favorite entries: )

Thanks to everybody who entered! Your costumes were a delight to read about.

Remember folks: Today's the last day to enter in my Diamine ink Halloween giveaway. Tell me what you're going to be for Halloween, and you could win set of Diamine Pumpkin and Diamine Onyx Black fountain pen inks (30 mL bottles).

I'll be at a friend's Halloween party tonight -- I'm going to be Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter and he's going to be Lucius Malfoy -- so I hope you all have a spooky night filled with gluttonous sugary decadence, creative costumes, and possibly alcohol (*wink*).

Have a fantastic Halloween, everyone!

Um...wow. 4 weeks it's been? Really?

Man. I am sorry about that, guys, really I am. I would have updated sooner, except, well...I've been a bit...distracted lately. In a nutshell: Breakups are not fun.

As an apology for my sudden lack of posts, however, I have for you all.....a Halloween giveaway!

What are the two main colors for Halloween? Black and orange! And that's the ink set up for grabs.

I have two 30-ml plastic bottles of Diamine ink to give away: Diamine Pumpkin and Diamine Onyx Black. Both were reviewed earlier this year, and they will be given away as a set.

How to win? Simple. Comment below and tell me what you're going to be for Halloween/the best Halloween costume you ever wore. Winner will be picked at random. The contest will end at 12 midnight on Halloween.

Good luck!!!

Yippee!

Ok, so here's the truth: I've been on something of a stationary-purchasing spree lately. Along with the Year in Japan Postcard Book and the Sushi-nery Mix and Match Stationary from the Chronicle Books website (Hey, they were having a huge sale!), I also purchased Shag Tiki stationary by Dark Horse from Things From Another World and goodies from Crane & Co.. I highly recommend heading over to their website, by the way; Crane & Co. is having a gigantic semi-annual sale, and I got awesome deals on what I purchased. Now, I purchased from Crane YESTERDAY, and they had a package for me on my doorstep by today! WOW!

Photo-heavy -- click to view :-) )

EDIT: Holy sh*t, is today Paper Delivery Day, or something? Look what UPS just delivered!!

Click for more yummy stationary goodness :D )

Paper heaven! Now I just have to behave and not buy ANY MORE STATIONARY FOR A LONG LONG TIME. At least not till I've exhausted all of these and a few homemade ones that have yet to go out, and that -- fortunately for my bank account -- will take a while.

Y'know, I would have posted this earlier, except working for 9 hours (yesterday) tends to exhaust one to the point of being a vegetable most of the next day ;)

So! Here's the deal. I have 5 pads of the eco-friendly sugarcane bagasse paper from Staples to give away (reviewed here). To enter, simply comment and tell us your favorite eco-friendly writing/art-related instrument or medium (eg: paper, paints, brushes, inks, pens, etc). People without blogs or Livejournals are able to comment as well.

Explain why it's your favorite. Finally, leave your name/alias. The winner will be chosen from a RANDOM DRAWING of all those who entered, so don't worry if someone suggested the same item that you did.

The contest ends Sunday, June 14th, at noon.

The winners will be announced via a blog entry after the contest ends.

GOOD LUCK. :)

While browsing various pen/paper/ink-related websites, I came across Caronlina Pad's new eco-friendly product line, Sasquatch. Even cooler, they are having a Green Tips contest in which you submit your favorite "green" tip for environmentally-friendly living, and they decide if it's unique and practical enough to feature on their website. 10 winners will be chosen, each of whom will receive a free Sasquatch notepad set.

What are you waiting for? Check out Sasquatch!!

The tip I've entered, in case you're curious, is my personal favorite: Purchase a water filter (like the practical, affordable Brita water filter which I have) and a stainless steel water bottle/canteen (may I suggest Kleen Kanteens? If those are too expensive, just go to any store that has a sports section and you'll be able to find one). Fill the reusable steel canteen with freshly filtered tap water every morning, and you're good to go! Not only do you not contribute to tons of plastic waste (most of which, sadly, cannot be recycled) but you save lots of money....buying packages upon packages of bottled water adds up! And, let's face it -- what is bottled water if not filtered tap water?

Good luck to anyone that enters! In fact, if you feel so inclined, why not comment to this entry and post your tip here on Damaged Goods? Share your green tips with us!

And, again...very soon there will be a contest featured here to win environmentally-friendly Staples bagasse paper, made from sugarcane waste. Go green!

PS -- I finally got around to making myself some fun new LJ icons. Hee! :D
